The Back 40 is an Australian Heritage brand built to celebrate the heart of our country, the dust, the sweat, the open roads, and the stories that shape who we are.
We’re more than apparel. We’re a nod to where we come from, to those who work hard, live free, and keep the Australian spirit alive.
It’s not some big-city label trying to capture “rural style.” It’s the real thing — born from red dirt, hard work, and the kind of life you can’t fake.
We make gear that belongs out here.
Our designs are drawn from the backbone of Australia — the high-country tracks, the campfires, the station yards, the rodeo arenas, and the backroads,
Every item carries a bit of that dust, that pride and nostalgia.
We started The Back 40 to pay tribute to Australia’s country heritage to the people, the places, and the grit that make this country what it is.
It’s for the station hands, the truckies, the stockmen, the fishos, the farmers, the rodeo riders, the blokes behind the wheel of a Ute, and the families that keep it all ticking.
The name comes from an old term meaning “the back paddock” — the farthest stretch of land, the place where work gets done and stories get told.
That’s where we come from. That’s where our brand belongs.
