The one that carries dust on the sleeves, sweat through the back, and the marks of a proper day’s work. Out on the fence line, under the tray, fixing what needs fixing, it doesn’t get taken off, just keeps going.
The cut is simple. Nothing extra. Room where you need it, tough where it counts. Buttons you don’t think about. Pockets that hold what matters. Fabric that feels right from the start and only gets better with time.
You’ll see it at servo stops, in paddocks, on job sites, and leaning against utes at knock-off. Same shirt, different stories. Worn by blokes and women who don’t make a big deal of what they do, they just get on with it.

We ship orders on standard business days, excluding public holidays. Once your gear heads out, you’ll receive a tracking number to follow its journey through Australia Post, from our shed to your doorstep. During busy sale periods, please allow up to an extra 10 business days for dispatch as we work through orders in the proper Back 40 way: steady, careful, and without cutting corners.
We pack every parcel with the same pride we put into our apparel, but once it’s in the hands of the courier, it’s their run. If Australia Post confirms your parcel is lost or damaged, we’ll help point you in the right direction. Please note: unless you selected Express Shipping with Insurance, we’re unable to replace or refund items affected in transit. Most claims will need to be lodged directly with the courier.
Because out here, we do things straight and honest gear, honest terms, and support wherever we can.
We stand by the gear we make, and we want you to feel the same. Full-priced items can be returned within 20 days for a refund, exchange, or gift card, as long as they’re unworn, unwashed, with tags attached, and purchased directly from our website or our Helensvale store.
Sale items 30% off or less are welcome back for an exchange or gift card. Clearance items 50% off or more are final sale, once they’re gone, they’re gone. Some products can’t be returned for hygiene reasons, including underwear, swimwear without hygiene tags, and gift cards.
Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty. If you’re sending something back for a second time, shipping will also be customer-paid. Sale or promotional exchanges incur a $10 return fee, and we’re unable to accept pre-paid post bags. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Outside the 20-day window, we only accept returns for faulty items under ACCC guidelines. Doing right for our customers is part of the Back 40 way.
